Becka Williams
Instructor/Choreographer
With a passion for dance spanning decades, Becka brings extensive training, performance, coaching, choreography, and leadership experience to her teaching. She has over 12 years of competitive dance experience, travelling throughout Canada and the United States and performing in solos, duets, trios, and groups across ballet, jazz, tap, acro, and contemporary. The core of her training was at Somerville Dance Academy in Richmond Hill Ontario.
Becka holds CDTA Associate Member Level qualifications in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, as well as Intermediate Level in Acro, and has studied the works and techniques of Martha Graham in modern and contemporary dance and attended The School of Dance in Ottawa Summer Contemporary Program for multiple summers. Her performance experience includes the University of Ottawa Varsity Dance Team and two years with the Ottawa Renegades Dance Team.
Her leadership experience includes three years coaching the University of Ottawa Varsity Dance Team, where she developed an audition-based team, choreographed routines, and led weekly practices. She has also worked as a guest judge for university dance teams and as a freelance competition choreographer, collaborating with former students and dancers.
As an educator, Becka believes dance is about more than learning steps. She is committed to developing technically strong, confident, disciplined, and expressive dancers while creating an environment where students feel supported and encouraged to challenge themselves.
She believes that a great teacher never stops learning and is dedicated to bringing new knowledge, creativity, and experience into the classroom. Through continuous learning, strong leadership, and mentorship, her goal is to help every dancer build confidence, discover their individual strengths, and become the strongest version of themselves—both in dance and beyond.
